The Ethics Faculty Advisory Committee recently announced the recipient of the University Faculty Fellowship in Ethics: Dr. David Clark Knowlton, associate professor of behavioral science, received $7,000 for the 2008-2009 academic year.
Smiling faces along with an array of Wolverine green welcomed in the celebratory ribbon cutting of the first UVU Habitat for Humanity home Wednesday May 28. A ceremony and barbecue party took place to commemorate the finished home built by 24 of the campus’ building construction students in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity of Utah County (HFHUC). Big things have happened since the announcement of UVSC becoming a university. With the addition of master’s programs, the new library, and the ever-rising count of bachelor’s degrees, the transition to university status couldn’t be more exciting.
This year’s commencement and convocation ceremonies will not simply mark the passing of yet another UVSC graduating class. They will mark the passing of the last UVSC graduating class — a realization that may create a celebration the whole school, not just the lucky seniors strutting down the aisle, can look forward to.
In the momentous transition for the school to become a university, many changes have occurred. New logos were unveiled, the digital learning center built, new faculty hired, a master’s degree introduced, and, following in suit, The College Times is moving away from its college days as well.
