These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of The UVU Review and the website located at https://www.uvureview.com. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site.

The UVU Review is the independent student-run publication of Utah Valley University. We operate under the principles of a free student press and are editorially independent from the university administration.

You may access and use the Site for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the Site without express written permission;
• Use the Site in any way that violates applicable local, state, federal, or international law;
• Transmit unsolicited communications (spam) or engage in phishing;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Site or its related systems;
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Site;
• Scrape or harvest content in bulk without prior written permission.

You may create a free reader account to access enhanced site features such as commenting and saved articles. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information;
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account;
• Not share your account credentials with others;
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

All content published on the Site — including articles, photographs, graphics, videos, audio recordings, and design elements — is the property of The UVU Review or its respective student contributors and is protected by U.S. and international copyright law.

You may:

• Share links to our content on social media or other platforms;
• Quote brief excerpts (up to 100 words) with clear attribution and a link back to the original article;
• Use content for educational, non-commercial purposes with attribution, consistent with fair use under 17 U.S.C. § 107.

You may not:

• Republish full articles, photographs, or multimedia content without express written permission;
• Remove or alter copyright notices or bylines;
• Use our content for commercial purposes without a licensing agreement.

By submitting comments, letters, tips, or other content ("User Content") to the Site, you:

• Represent that you own or have the necessary rights to the content you submit;
• Grant The UVU Review a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to publish, edit, and display your content;
• Agree not to submit content that is defamatory, harassing, obscene, unlawful, or that infringes third-party rights.

We reserve the right to remove, edit, or decline to publish any User Content at our discretion. We do not endorse views expressed in user comments.

The UVU Review is an independent student publication. News and editorial decisions are made solely by student editors and staff in accordance with journalistic standards. The views expressed in articles, columns, and editorials do not represent the views of Utah Valley University, its administration, or its Board of Trustees.

Advertising relationships do not influence editorial content. Sponsored or paid content, when published, is clearly labeled as such.

The Site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The UVU Review disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We strive for accuracy but do not warrant that all information on the Site is complete, current, or error-free. Nothing on this Site constitutes legal, financial, medical, or professional advice.

To the maximum extent permitted by Utah law, The UVU Review and its student staff, editors, faculty advisors, and affiliated parties shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or its content, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and may embed content from YouTube, Spotify, and social media platforms. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites and do not endorse them. Your interactions with those services are governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Utah County, Utah, and you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes are effective upon posting. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
