After getting off to an ok start in the first day of the opening-season tournament Utah Valley men’s golf team place second over all. The Battle of the Tetons took place at the Headwaters Golf Club in Victor, Idaho, September 1-2nd.
At the end of the fist day UVU was ranked fifth at 12-over-par (588), which was just three shots back of the host Weber State (585). Southern Utah and Wyoming sat at second and third respectively, while Westminster rounded out the field. Utah State lead the tournament both days.
The Wolverines upped their game the second day as J.T Timmons and Blair Bursey lead the team in both days, but still managed to move up the ranks finishing fifth and eighth over all. Brayden Eriksen and Preston Richards, who at the end of Monday they found themselves in 26th and 27th, moved up to ninth and eleventh. Out of the five athletes UVU brought for team play only one didn’t make the top 20 of the tournament.
The final team rankings were Utah State (-7), Utah Valley (E), Southern Utah (+1), Wyoming (+10), and Weber State tying for fifth with Westminster (+23)
The gentlemen Wolverines next head to Ft. Collins, Colorado for the Colorado State University Ram Masters on September 15-16th.
