It is that time of year again when basketball fans can get their first look at the Utah Valley University squads. The annual Meet the Team Night will take place on Thursday in the PE Building and starts at 7:00p.m. MT.
The men’s team returns six letterwinners, including two starters from last year’s WAC regular season championship team. As well as welcoming seven newcomers. Compared to the women’s team who are returning three starters and six letterwinners. They will be welcoming in seven newcomers.
Under the direction of 13th-year head coach Dick Hunsaker the defending WAC champions will play two, 12-minute scrimmages. After that UVU’s Cathy Nixon, entering her 20th season as the head coach of the women’s team, will watch over a series of mixed skill challenges and drills for both squads.
The evening’s events will conclude with an autograph session in which free schedule posters will be distributed and members from both squads will be on hand.
The lady Wolverines will open the 2014-15 season with an exhibition game against Colorado Mesa at the UCCU Center on November 3rd at 7:00p.m. MT. Two nights later the gentlemen Wolverines will open their season also with an exhibition game against Colorado Mesa at the UCCU Center. Start time for the November 5th game is 7:05p.m. MT.
