With five weeks left until the last day of spring semester, it can only mean that summer is just around the corner. This summer offers the opportunity for students to take classes with a variety of options of different sessions.
There are many benefits of attending summer semester. One is saving money as a non-resident or international student since UVU offers resident tuition to all students, and free parking permits during the summer.
Summer semester also helps students get closer to graduation status. Students can choose from four sessions during the semester. Courses are fast-paced, considering that some sessions only last 7.5 weeks.
Classes are offered not only at the main campus, but also at UVU West and Spanish Fork High School. There are classes offered during the day, evening and weekend, in order to accommodate more student schedules.
Summer session registration begins March 25 for students with 80 credit hours or more, March 26-27 for those with 50 credits or more, March 30-31 for those with 30 credits or more, and April 1 for those with less than 30 credits.
In celebration, a summer kick-off is scheduled March 25 in the Courtyard from noon to 1 p.m. J-Dawgs will be served at a discounted price along with snow cones. Also, shirts will be given out and representatives from the Office of Extended Studies will be available to answer any questions regarding summer classes.
