Well folks, this week I’ve decided to do something a little different and do a double feature. (After all, I can only use the word “fun” so many times to describe one place.) My topic: attractions in Utah Valley.

Jump On It in Lindon

Located just off the freeway five minutes north of UVU is Jump on It. As the name implies, the method to this place’s entertainment centers on that activity enjoyed since childhood, jumping. This place is basically a series of trampolines all lined up together along with “side” trampolines and proves to be an outstanding venue for an awesome game of tag (imagine being chased as you leap from one trampoline to the next), steal the flag, and any other games you might come up with. This is also an awesome place to go if you want to watch some pretty sweet aerial stuff going on, flips over platforms, continuous back flips from one trampoline to the next, etc. There’s always someone there who’s good at it.

The Verdict: A really fun place to bounce around and hang out with friends or take a date, but make it a group date. This place is better with a group of people. Cost is $8 per hour (unless you can sweet talk the guy up front into getting you a good deal).

Comedy Sportz in Provo

For those who went to our critique of the week two weeks ago, “Sammy’s,” you weren’t too far from Provo’s best place for laughs, Comedy Sportz (or CSZ, as it’s abbreviated). CSZ features improv comedy every Friday and Saturday night at 8 p.m. and 10:15 p.m., with other shows through the week (Google “Comedy Sportz Provo” for more show info). I have been here several times and I’ve almost peed my pants laughing so hard on a few of those occasions. The improv shows feature two teams who compete for points based on the best/ funniest performances in different events and scenes. What makes the show even funnier is the fact that none of the acting is pre-arranged, it is all based on suggestions from the audience. An awesome date, this is a very fun and exciting atmosphere, that, like Jump on It, eliminates dining ettiqutte anxiety and the dull sameness of the standard dinner-and-a-movie date.

That’s all I have for now. Happy dating!
