UVU women’s soccer dominated its opponent on both sides of the ball in a 3-0 shutout victory Friday as it hosted Chicago State University on Senior Night at Clyde Field. The lady Wolverines have outscored their last three opponents by a score of 9-0.

Senior forward Mckell Salmon led the team’s dominant offensive attack and capped off a successful performance with a goal to stretch the lead to 3-0. At the 85 minute mark, Salmon received the pass from Sydney Fitzpatrick as she made a nice run past defenders to find the back of the net a nice chip shot inside the box.

Salmon, who was honored on Senior Night along with teammates Lexi Robison and Kim Stratford, showed her valuable experience in being responsible for two of the three goals scored by UVU. In addition to her goal late in the match, Salmon found teammate Caitlin Mortensen inside the box for a goal off a corner kick in the 26th minute for the assist.

The lady Wolverines saw many scoring opportunities on the offensive attack as it controlled possession throughout the match. UVU finished the night with a 36-1 shot advantage over Chicago.

UVU’s defense complimented the offensive attack with its own dominating performance leading the team to its eighth shutout of the season. Keeper Jessica Duffin finished the night with 1 save.
