Hall has already accomplished much in her time here at UVU. In 2010, she was named to the All-Conference Second Team and Great West Conference Newcomer Team. In 2011, she was named to the All-Conference First team and GWC Setter of the Year.

Like most talented athletes, Hall began playing sports at a young age. She playing soccer until giving volleyball a shot in eighth grade.

“One day, I just thought, ‘I want to try volleyball.’ It’s an indoor sport,” Hall said. “I also thought it could be more enjoyable. So I tried it and loved it and wanted to pursue it.”

For Hall, pursuing volleyball was a great choice. She dominated the field at Mesquite High School in Gilbert, Ariz., earning many honors, such as three years of varsity letters, and MVP honors.

As such a decorated athlete, she was heavily recruited by schools. Other than UVU, she received attention from Arizona University and BYU. Despite attention from other schools, Hall chose UVU to make an immediate impact.

“I chose UVU because I like the atmosphere here, and the coaches work really well together,” Hall said. “Especially with us.”

That reason has led to a winning tradition. Hall and her teammates have high expectations for this season, especially after winning the Great West Conference last season. This year is felt to be no different.

“We are picked first for this year, because we won it last year,” Hall said. “We take each match one by one and try not to look too far ahead. Our main goal is to win conference, and we‘ll get it done.”

Like so many great team leaders often do, Hall really wants to help her team out. She continues to play hard and make great plays. She just wants to give back to the program that she has been a big part of.

“I really want to be the quarterback and help everyone out and to get this program to bigger and better places,” Hall said.

As the season progresses, keep an eye on this UVU volleyball team as they work hard and work together to repeat a Great West Conference title and look for Hall to be a major contributor in pushing for that success.
