Every student should have a student ID card. The ability to identify yourself as a UVU student gets students a VIP pass to campus resources such as, physical education programs, the testing center, library services, campus events, and much more.
When you go to the campus connection to get an ID card, you should have three things. The first is your student ID number. It is a good idea to memorize this number sooner rather than later.
You will also need to be enrolled in classes this semester, however having your class schedule with you isn’t necessary.
Lastly, make sure you need to show a government-issued photo ID. This is the only thing you really must have with you. You can use your driver’s license, a passport, or a military ID. If you don’t have one of these, there is a long list of alternative ways to identify yourself using from two to four types of ID. See the page “To Get an ID” on the UVU website for details.
UTA bus passes have traditionally been subsidized by the school in year-to-year agreements with UTA. As of August 1 of this year, the agreement hasn’t been reached. Last year, student’s paid $40 for a one year pass. Because of the rising cost of gas and education, the difficulties of arranging for cheaper bus passes increase year-to-year.
Utah Community Credit Union also has a deal with UVU so that students can get a debit card through them that also works as a student ID and bus pass. UCCU has ATMs all over campus and a location on campus by the food court. Having your student card with you at all times will benefit you from the many uses that will come from it.
