The UVUSA student council has voted to approve a series of ballot measures that would alter the way the organization is structured; changes include removing the PR Chair from council and modifications to the Engagement branch and activity chairs.

The Arts and maintenance request increases to student fees; first day of hearings begin

The UVUSA Student Council met with representatives from the School of the Arts and Operations and Managment to discuss proposed changes to their student fees. Both organizations are asking for increases in their fees for the upcoming year.

Woman arrested and charged after falsely reporting an active shooter threat at UVU

Alyssa Melaine Foreman was arrested and charged with causing a panic after allegedly making a false report of an active shooter threat in UVU’s UCCU event center. Reports say allegedly Foreman had been hallucinating.

LDS Apostle, M. Russell Ballard, dies at age 95

Apostle of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, M. Russell Ballard, passed away late evening on Nov. 12, 2023. Ballard had been facing health challenges, and is survived by his seven children, 43 grandchildren, 105 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

The UVUSA Student Council received training for their anticipated 2024 student fee hearings. Marissa King, director of student leadership programs, stated that she expected departments to ask for increases in their fees.
