NFL Week 5 Recap

Colts 27 Texans 20

Matt Hasselbeck won his second game in a row while filling in for injured quarterback Andrew Luck. Hasselbeck was 18 of 29 for 213 yards and two touchdowns. Frank Gore had 22 carries for 98 yards and one touchdown. DeAndre Hopkins had 11 catches for 169 yards for Houston.

Bears 18 Chiefs 17

Don’t look now, but Chicago has won two in a row. Jay Cutler was 26 of 45 for 252 yards and two touchdowns. Alex Smith was 16 of 30 for 181 yards and one touchdown for Kansas City. The Chiefs lost star running back Jamaal Charles to what appears to be a torn ACL.

Bengals 27 Seahawks 24

Andy Dalton continues to impress. The Bengals stormed back from a 17 point fourth quarter deficit to pull off the comeback. Dalton was 30 of 44 for 331 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Tyler Eifert had eight catches for 90 yards with two touchdowns. Thomas Rawls had 23 carries for 169 yards and one touchdown for Seattle.

Falcons 25 Redskins 19

Atlanta stayed unbeaten with their overtime victory against Washington. Devonta Freeman continued to dominate as he had 27 carries for 153 yards and one touchdown. Kirk Cousins was 21 of 32 for 219 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions for Washington.

Buccaneers 38 Jaguars 31

Jameis Winston was 13 of 19 for 209 yards and one touchdown. Doug Martin had 24 carries for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Blake Bortles was 23 of 33 for 303 yards with four touchdowns and one interception for Jacksonville.

Eagles 39 Saints 17

Sam Bradford was 32 of 45 for 333 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. DeMarco Murray had his best game as an Eagle as he had 83 yards on 20 carries with one touchdown. Ryan Mathews had 8 carries for 73 yards and one touchdown. Drew Brees was 26 of 43 for 335 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.

Browns 33 Ravens 30

Josh McCown was 36 of 51 for 457 yards and two touchdowns. Gary Barnidge had 8 receptions for 139 yards and one touchdown. Justin Forsett had 21 carries for 121 yards and one touchdown for Baltimore.

Packers 24 Rams 10

Aaron Rodgers was 19 of 30 for 241 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. James Jones had two catches for 77 yards and one touchdown. Rookie Todd Gurley continues to make a name for himself. Gurley had 30 carries for 159 yards for St. Louis.

Bills 14 Titans 13

Tyrod Taylor was 10 of 17 for 109 yards and one touchdown. Taylor had 8 carries for 76 yards and one touchdown. Marcus Mariota was 21 of 32 for 187 yards and one interception for Tennessee.

Cardinals 42 Lions 17

The Cardinals continued their hot start. Carson Palmer was 11 of 14 for 161 yards and three touchdowns. Andre Ellington had three carries for 63 yards and one touchdown.

Patriots 30 Cowboys 6

Tom Brady was 20 of 27 for 275 yards and two touchdowns. Julian Edelman had 4 catches for 120 yards and a touchdown. Brandon Weeden was 26 of 39 for 188 and one interception.

Giants 30 49ers 27

In what turned to be one of the more exciting games of the weeks, the Giants came out with the victory. Eli Manning was 41 of 54 for 441 yards and three touchdowns with one interception. O’Dell Beckham Jr. had seven catches for 121 yards and one touchdown. Colin Kapernick was 23 of 35 for 262 yards and one touchdown for San Francisco.

Steelers 24 Chargers 20

Pittsburg won this one as time expired. Mike Vick was 13 of 26 for 203 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Le’Veon Bell carried the ball 21 times for 111 yards and one touchdown. Antonio Gates returned for San Diego and made nine catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns, the 100th and 101st of his career.
