Our sports writer fantasy football league has been changed to a point per reception league. This means every catch a player makes will be equal to one point. The only effect this has on previous games is the week one matchup between Poff for America and Eazy G. It ended in a tie.

Game of the week recap:

The undefeated teams matched up and it wasn’t a disappointing game. Slammin Fortes (4-1) decided to go with Andy Dalton and Martellus Benette for the second week in a row, making the risky decision to bench Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. It paid off as Andy Dalton had a monster game, racking up an unbelievable 29 points. Matt Forte’s game winning touchdown catch and James Jones long touchdown catch put him in good position to win. Unfortunately Jamaal Charles going down with a knee injury kept him from reaching his full potential. The Las Vegas Locos (5-0) saw 20+ point performances from Tyrod Taylor, Dion Lewis, and Broncos Defense, along with 15-point performances from Todd Gurley, Julio Jones, and T.J Yeldon. It wasn’t easy, but the Locos held on to win 127-113.

Going into Monday, Breesus King of the Drews (3-2) was down by about 30 points to Team Morin (1-4). Unfortunately for Morin, Drews had four players playing on Monday. Morin tried to build a big lead with 20+ point games from Brandin Cooks and Sam Bradford. He had 75 points going into Monday. Drews players who played on Monday were Phillip Rivers, Le’Veon Bell, Danny Woodhead and Heath Miller. The four combined for 65 points, and Morin’s big lead vanished. Drews won this one late, 106- 75.

Victory Formation (2-3) add to their winning streak by cruising past Eazy G (1-3-1). With 30+ point games from running backs Devonta Freeman and Doug Martin, along with a 29 point outing from Tyler Eifert, it looks like Victory Formation has finally hit his stride. He scored enough points this week to beat anyone in the whole league, including the undefeated Locos, with 148 points. Eazy G struggled to put together much of a roster as bye weeks decimated his team. He was only able to post 37 and Formation took this one handily, 148-37.

Mr. Sports Editor (3-2) was trailing Amazing St. Patrick’s (2-3) by 13 points going into Monday night with his only player left being Antonio Gates, who hasn’t played all season because of a suspension. Patrick’s got surprisingly good production from the previously silent Andre Johnson, who chewed up his old team, the Texans, to the tune of 25 fantasy points. Along with a monster game from Allen Robinson, Patrick’s looked good to win this one. Editor came roaring back as Antonio Gates reeled in two touchdown passes and 90 yards, scoring 30 fantasy points. Editor won this one on Monday, 134-117.

Poff for America (1-3-1) found his first win of the season against Here so I don’t Get Fined (2-3). Poff benefitted from dominating performances by DeAndre Hopkins and Carson Palmer. With DeMarco Murray’s return to form, Poff saw 20+ points from all those players. Fined got a huge game from Justin Forsett and John Brown. With solid performances across the board from Chris Johnson, Brandon McManus, and Seahawks D, Fined was able to keep up, but ultimately fell just short, as Poff took his first win, 123-110.

A lot of games were won and lost on Monday night. This week’s Monday night game, Giants and Eagles, may have the same kind of effect. The sports writer’s league continues to be exciting, and now coaches will need to set their game plan for the new points per rep system.
