Cross Country Boasts another Win

Utah Valley’s cross country teams competed in the UNLV Invitational Saturday morning. The lady Wolverines claimed first (20 points) in the meet and the gentlemen brought back a second place (30 points).

The team final rankings for the Invitational for the women place UNLV in second with 70 points, SUU in third with 72 points, and Dixie State behind them with 89 point. The men’s team rankings have SUU in first with 27 points and Dixie State in third with 80 points.

McKayla Morgan led the women as she finished second overall with at time of 17:41.50 on the 5k course. She was quickly followed by Ivie Gonzalves (17:41.90), Darian Sharp (17:42.10), and McKayla Stepp (17:48.80).

Tyson Lambert lead the men with a fourth place overall finish and a time of 19:24.90 on the 6.3K course. Following him to the finish line was Trac Norris and Logan Petty with a tied time of 19:25.2, Brenden Emery (19:25.80), and Seth Gutzwiller (19:26.3).

UVU’s cross country team next travel to SUU to compete in the Color County Invite on October 3rd.
