It was announced in June that Marc Archambault, who is the vice president of Development and Alumni Relations, will be leaving UVU to accept a position with Western Kentucky University (WKU), at Bowling Green.
Archambault has held his current position since 2010. He also served as vice chair and executive director of the Utah Valley University Foundation, which raises funds for the university.
In his time at UVU, Archambault was credited with increasing donor and private funding, increasing scholarships received and establishing successful volunteer programs.
He also led efforts to gain private funding for the Wee Care Center and new projects such as the proposed performing arts building and the autism center.
Archambault will start at WKU as vice president of Development and Alumni Relations July 31. He will also serve as president of WKU Foundation, a non-profit organization that “promotes the welfare and future development of Western Kentucky University’s educational goals.”
“Marc came to UVU and truly transformed our development efforts,” said UVU President Matthew S. Holland in a written statement. “Because we attract such great talent at UVU, there are times when we have to let that great talent move on to other, new opportunities. This is certainly one of those cases, yet I am optimistic about the future because of Marc’s great leadership in our fundraising operation.”
An interim VP, Kay Schallenkamp, will take over the position starting July 16. Schallenkamp has previously held positions as president of Black Hills State University and president of Emporia State University.
School administrators are conducting a nationwide search for a permanent replacement for Archambault.
