Another grand reopening

In celebration of its 75th anniversary and recent remodel, the Scera Center for the Arts held a ribbon cutting on Sept. 4. The event included a dance performance and short speeches by Xango higher-ups, long-time fans of the Scera, and Orem City mayor pro tem Carl Hernandez.

Ask any gamer worth his salt to name 15 games he’s excited for in the next 3 months and without a doubt Capcom’s hotly anticipated Mega Man 9 will be somewhere on that list. Having been featured in over 100 different games spanning every conceivable genre, the titular Mega Man is one of the most widely recognized and versatile mascots of gaming — second, perhaps, only to Mario.

Filmmakers on campus

The makers of the new indie flick Take, starring Minnie Driver (Grosse Pointe Blank, Good Will Hunting) and Jeremy Renner (The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, 28 Weeks Later), will be speaking in the new library from 3-5 PM this Wednesday on how to write, cast, shoot, finance and distribute a film. They will not only be talking about the technical aspect, but the creative as well.
