Since its dedication in 1996, the UCCU Center has hosted hundreds of outstanding dances, sporting events and concerts. Concerts featuring a wide range of artists like Paramore, Kelly Clarkson, Muse and Maroon 5. This fall the center promises to continue that legacy with an amazing lineup of live musical performances.
As fall semester gets into full swing and temperatures drop, students can look forward to an exotic reprieve with an exciting performance from New Zealand’s Te Vaka. On September 30th this 11-piece band of musicians and dancers will bring students a little taste of paradise with their contemporary Southern Pacific rhythms and traditional Polynesian dances.
In addition to this light-hearted luau, the UCCU Center announced that on October 25, it would be hosting six-time platinum American alternative rock band, Three Doors Down. The Mississippi-based band behind the Billboard hit “Kryptonite” will be appearing with special guest, post-grunge rock band Theory of a Deadman, promising an unforgettable show.
The center promises not only great shows this semester, but also perks for students and improvements in the facilities themselves.
“We always try to at least give the students the option of buying tickets before anybody else does,” said Mark Hildebrand, Director of the UCCU Center.
He also spoke of some upcoming changes in the center, “It won’t happen until November, but we are going to have concession stand suppliers who will be able to do French fries and hamburgers.”
Whether students are looking for a distraction from Orem’s chilly weather this fall, or an opportunity to sing along to their favorite hit from the junior high days, students are sure to find what they are looking for at the UCCU Center this semester.
