While nighttime general lane restrictions are possible along the entire length of the I-15 corridor, Utah Department of Transportation has issued its weekly list of specific expected activity. Below are some of the hot spots that may affect the UVU population:

  • University Parkway
  • I-15 lane through American Fork and Lindon
  • Orem 800 North
  • Orem 1600 North
  • Provo Center Street

Signal work, ramp reconstruction and paving will cause the east-west traffic at the University Parkway interchange to be closed beginning Saturday, April 14, at 9:00 p.m. until Monday, April 16, at 5:30 a.m. The northbound off-ramp and on-ramp at the interchange will remain open. Drivers wanting access between southbound I-15 and the interchange should use Orem or Provo Center Street interchanges.

The northbound lane restrictions on I-15 through American Fork and Lindon have been removed, and the southbound lane restrictions are scheduled for removal Sunday, April 8.

While bridge deck panels are installed on the new bridge at the Orem 800 North interchange, east-west travel will be detoured to either 400 North or Center Street tonight and tomorrow night, April 6-7, from 10:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. During this work, all on- and off-ramps will remain functional. However, the ramps will be affected for overhead sign construction, grooving and further bridge work next week. The southbound off-ramp will be closed April 9 and 11, and the northbound on-ramp will be closed April 10. All ramp closure will last from 10:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.

Grooving and lane marking will necessitate the closure of the on- and off-ramps at the Orem 1600 North interchange on the nights of April 10-13. The northbound off-ramp is scheduled for closure April 10, the southbound on-ramp is scheduled for closure April 11, and the southbound off-ramp is scheduled for closure April 13. All closures will begin at 9:00 p.m. and end at 5:30 a.m.

The installation of storm drains will cause the closure of the Provo Center Street northbound off-ramp tonight and tomorrow night, April 6-7, from 10:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Closure of the Center Street northbound on-ramp, while UDOT crews construct the new northbound lanes and ramp connections, is anticipated to begin April 15 and last for 40 days. While only one northbound ramp will close at a time, motorists are encouraged to use University Avenue or University Parkway as alternate access points to northbound I-15 during the closure.
