Not too many surprises in Week 3

NFL Week 3 Recap

Giants 32 Redskins 21

The Giants picked up their first win of the season. Eli Manning was 23 of 32 for 279 yards and two touchdowns. Rueben Randle had seven catches for 116 yards and a touchdown. Odell Beckham Jr. also had seven catches for 79 yards and a touchdown. Kirk Cousins was 30 of 49 for 316 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions for the Redskins.

Falcons 39 Cowboys 28

Atlanta moved stayed undefeated with their big win over Dallas. Matt Ryan was 24 of 36 for 285 yards and two touchdowns. Julio Jones continues his impressive start by having 12 catches for 141 yards and three touchdowns. Devonta Freeman rushed 30 times for 141 yards and two touchdowns. In his first start, Brandon Weeden was 22 of 26 for 232 yards and an interception for the Cowboys.

Colts 35 Titans 33

After losing their first two games, the Colts finally picked up their first win. Andrew Luck was 18 of 30 for 260 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Frank Gore had his best game as a Colt as he rushed 14 times for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Marcus Mariota was 27 of 44 for 367 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions for the Titans.

Raiders 27 Browns 20

Oakland won their second game in a row. Derek Carr was 20 of 32 for 314 yards and two touchdowns. Latavius Murray had 26 carries for 139 and one touchdown. Rookie Amari Cooper had eight catches for 134 yards.  Josh McCown was 28 of 39 for 341 yards with two touchdowns and one interception for the Browns. Gary Barnidge added six catches for 105 yards and one touchdown.

Bengals 28 Ravens 24

While the Bengals remained unbeaten the Ravens are still winless through the first three games. The star of the day was Bengals wide receiver, A.J. Green. Green had 10 catches for 227 yards and two touchdowns. Andy Dalton was 20 of 32 for 383 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Veteran Steve Smith Sr continued to shine for Baltimore. He caught 13 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns.

Patriots 51 Jaguars 17

Tom Brady was 33 of 42 for 358 yards and two touchdowns. LeGarrette Blount had 18 carries for 78 yards and three touchdowns. Rob Gronkowski added four catches for 101 yards. Blake Bortles was 17 of 33 for 242 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.

Panther 27 Saints 22

Carolina has now won their first three games of the season as they beat division vow New Orleans. Cam Newton was 20 of 31 for 315 yards and two touchdowns. Greg Olsen had eight catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns. The Saints were without star quarterback, Drew Brees, Luke McCown was 31 of 38 for 310 yards and one interception in place of Brees.

Eagles 24 Jets 17

Sam Bradford was 14 of 28 for 118 yards and one touchdown. Ryan Mathews had 108 yards on 25 carries. Brandon Marshall had 10 catches for 109 yards and a touchdown.

Texans 19 Buccaneers 9

Alfred Blue had 31 carries for 139 yards and one touchdown. Ryan Mallet was 24 of 39 for 228 yards with one touchdown and one interception. DeAndre Hopkins had eight catches for 101 yards and one touchdown. Mike Evans had seven catches for 101 yards for Tampa Bay.

Vikings 31 Chargers 14

The Vikings made this one look easy from start to finish. Adrian Peterson had 20 carries for 126 yards and two touchdowns. Teddy Bridgewater was 13 of 24 for 121 yards with one interception. Kenan Allen had 12 catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns for the Chargers.

Steelers 12 Rams 6

The Steelers won this one but they have lost quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to a knee injury for four to six weeks. Prior to his injury, Roethlisberger was 20 of 24 for 192 yards with one interception. In his first game of the season, Le’Veon Bell had 19 rushes for 62 yards and one touchdown. Antonio Brown had 11 catches for 108 yards. The Steelers will turn to Michael Vick due to the Roethlisberger injury. Kenny Britt had seven catches for 102 yards for the Rams.

Cardinals 47 49ers 7

The Cardinals dismantled division rival San Francisco. Carson Palmer was 20 of 32 for 311 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Larry Fitzgerald continued to turn back the clock as he had nine catches for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Chris Johnson had 22 carries for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Colin Kapernick threw four interceptions for the niners.

Bills 41 Dolphins 14

Tyrod Taylor continues to impress. He was 21 of 29 for 277 yards and three touchdowns. Karlos Williams ran the ball 12 times for 110 yards and one touchdown. Charles clay caught five passes for 82 yards and a touchdown. Rishard Matthews had 6 catches for 113 yards and two touchdowns for Miami.

Seahawks 26 Bears 0

Seattle picked up their first win of the season by collecting a shutout. Russell Wilson was 20 of 30 for 235 yards and a touchdown. Thomas Rawls stepped up big by rushing for 104 yards on 16 carries. Jimmy Graham had seven catches for 83 yards and a touchdown. Matt Forte had 74 yards on 20 carries for Chicago.

Broncos 24 Lions 12

Peyton Manning was 31 of 42 for 327 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Demaryius had nine catches for 92 yards and a touchdown. The Denver defense continued to impress as they had 4 sacks and two interceptions. Calvin Johnson had eight catches for 77 yards for Detroit.

Packers 38 Chiefs 28

Aaron Rodgers and Randall Cobb were the stars of the game. Rodgers was 24 of 35 for 333 yards and five touchdowns. Making this the fourth time of his career that he has thrown five touchdowns in a game. Cobb had seven catches for 139 yards and three touchdowns. James Jones also had seven catches for 91 yards and one touchdown. The Chiefs hadn’t had a touchdown catch by a receiver in 18 regular season games that streak was ended when Jeremy Maclin scored in the third quarter. Maclin finished with eight catches for 141 yards and a touchdown. Jamaal Charles had 11 carries for 49 yards and three touchdowns.
