Detour map for Sandhill Road closure Jan. 8-13

Years past have brought many changes to the transportation layout in Utah County, and 2012 is no different. UDOT crews are working around the clock to make traffic run smoothly and safely. Hot spots reported by UDOT for the next week include the following:

  • Sandhill Road
  • University Parkway SB I-15 offramp
  • Orem 800 North
  • Orem 400 South
  • Provo 920 South
  • Lehi Main Street
  • S.R. 75

Detour map for Sandhill Road closure Jan. 8-13

All northbound lanes of Sandhill Road going into the intersection of University Parkway will be closed Jan. 7-13. Drivers wanting to go north will need to take 1430 South and use 400 West to get to University Parkway.

The southbound off-ramp from I-15 to University Parkway will be closed Jan. 13 from 10:00 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. Jan. 14. Drivers should use Provo or Orem Center Street exits as alternatives.

Removal of old bridge pillars on 800 North in Orem will cause nightly road closures under the I-15 bridge, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. that are expected to continue until Jan. 12. On- and off-ramps will remain open. Alternate east-west routes include 400 North and 1600 north.

Bridge demolition and removal will occur on 400 South in Orem as well, causing a road closure under I-15 as early as Jan. 12. The city of Orem has approved 24-hour closure for daytime demolition to reduce noise impacts during the night. Center Street and University Parkway are suggested for east-west travel in the area.

More bridge demolition will necessitate another 24-hour closure on 920 South in Provo under I-15, Jan. 6-10. Demolition will occur during the day, and cleanup at night, 10:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. 600 South is the suggested alternative.

Lehi Main Street will be shifted into it’s final configuration, a “single point urban interchange,” as early as Jan. 8. No closures are expected, and the new configuration is designed to improve traffic flow for traffic entering and leaving the freeway.

The northbound on-ramp of S.R. 75 in Springville will be closed Jan. 7 from 9:00 p.m. until 11:00 a.m. the next day to facilitate shifting traffic onto the new concrete. Local Springville traffic should use the 400 South interchange as an alternate connection to I-15.

The southbound off-ramp of S.R. 75 in Springville will be closed Jan. 11 from 10:00 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. the next day to facilitate shifting traffic onto the new concrete. Again, alternate traffic should use the 400 South interchange.
