Police Beat
The following events are as written and reported by UVU Police, compiled by Mallory Black, News Editor.
November 5, 2012 11:42 a.m. – Tobacco Problem
I responded to the front entrance to the Liberal Arts Building on a report of individuals smoking less than 20 feet from the building. The individuals were gone upon arrival. The complainant did not want contact.
November 5, 2012 – 12:51 p.m. – Theft
A student on the Cross Country running team called to report his headphones stolen from his locker while he was at practice. The student has no suspects at this time. The locker was not secured while the student was at practice.
November 6, 2012 – 1:03 p.m. – Medical Emergency
I received a report of a female that had passed out and was in shock. The female was located in a women’s restroom in the GT Building. The female was evaluated by Orem City Paramedics and transported to the hospital.
November 6, 2012 – 6:03 p.m. – Theft
A young man came for his music lessons on the 4th floor of the GT Building. After his lessons, he returned to the locker room on the same floor only to find that someone had stolen his backpack with his new computer, his longboard and a new pair of Oakley sunglasses. A report was taken and items listed NCIC.
November 7, 2012 – 8:19 a.m. – Suspicious Person
I responded to a report of a male wearing cargo pants, gray jacket, carrying a radio and possibly carrying a gun. I checked the area and was unable to locate any person matching the description.
November 7, 2012 – 1:57 p.m. – Suspicious Person
I responded to the west side of the library on a welfare check of a student. I arrived on the scene and found the person to be a minor in possession of tobacco. The juvenile was referred to juvenile court for a tobacco violation.
