Police Beat March 28, 2011

Mar. 8, 2011:

3:47 p.m. – Stolen vehicle was found parked in a parking lot on campus.

6:25 p.m. – Officer was dispatched to a theft in the food court of the student center. Officer made contact with a witness and arrested the suspect.

Mar. 11, 2011:

8:59 a.m. – Officer responded to the McKay Education building on a reported suspicious. Officer found a suspicious circumstance had occurred. Officer forwarded information to the detective and notified the sergeant.

11:26 a.m. – Officer responded to the softball field on a report of a backhoe that had been stolen. The backhoe was recovered in north Orem and returned to the owner.

Mar. 14, 2011: 8:53 a.m. – Officer observed a UTA bus near lot D that appeared to have smoke coming from the brakes on the right rear. Officer stopped bus near the roundabout and evacuated the bus. UTA sent a mechanic with a replacement bus. UTA took custody of the bus.

Mar. 15, 2011: 10:26 a.m. – Officer took a report of an electric pencil sharpener that has been missing out of the workroom in the extended education building.

Mar. 18, 2011: 8:20 p.m. – Officer responded to west courts of the event center where a disorderly male was confronting kids riding the Flash big wheels. The male was located and was asked to leave the building.

Mar. 19, 2011: 1:06 a.m. – During a traffic stop for an equipment violation it was found that the driver had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and transported to Utah County Jail.
