Buffalo Wild Wings has a history of opening restaurants in areas with a high population of college students. With more than 60,000 students in Utah county alone, Buffalo Wild Wings corporate team felt this location was a perfect fit.
“The reaction from the local students has been outstanding,” said Russ Despain, assistant manager of the Lehi location.
Buffalo Wild Wings is known for its athletic atmosphere with sports channels playing on every television in the restaurant as well as being projected on every wall that can fit a 20-foot screen.
Buffalo Wild Wings also takes great pride in getting involved in local college sports. The restaurant has already begun a relationship with UVU by donating 500 wings to the fans in attendance at a recent UVU basketball game. Many students hope this relationship is one that will continue for years to come.
“I have been looking forward to Wild Wings opening in Lehi for months,” said Blake Clark, UVU student. “I used to eat there all the time when I lived in Minnesota. It’s about time they came to Utah.”
Buffalo Wild Wings was started in Ohio by James Disbrow. The restaurant was soon franchised out and began to spread all across the East and Midwest. Buffalo Wild Wings is best known for “Wing Tuesday” and “Boneless Thursday,” when wings are half price.
