With the growth-oriented environment of Utah’s community, more higher education classes and programs are becoming available. One such program is the new Masters in Business Administration program. With two tracks in Management and Accounting, the new program will be headed by Dr. Taggart Ford Frost. Though the Woodbury School of Business has been on campus helping students graduate with a Bachelors in businesses and accounting, they will now be accepting applications for the Master of Business Administration. In fall 2010 those interested in the major, after completing core course requirements, can choose an area of emphasis. The classes will be held Fridays 6 p.m.-10 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m.- 12 p.m.  In preparation for the new MBA program, the Woodbury School of Business is undergoing major renovations.

“We are updating and refurbishing our MBA rooms this summer and working with architects for the WB rooms, 105, 126 and 123 as well as the offices for the MBA program,” said Lauren Murakami, MBA coordinator.

According to Ian Wilson, dean for the Woodbury Business College, there will soon be a finance lab with big screens like the iconic marquee seen on Wall street. The new renovations will also include new carpet and furniture and will give it an overall professional feel, an environment from which “Everyone will be able to benefit,” hopes Wilson.

With a capstone class focused on putting students out in the community, the hope is that the new program will encourage students to be involved and give back. The deadline to enroll is Feb. 15, 2010.

“What else would you do on a Friday night or Saturday morning?” said Wilson. “Might as well get your Masters degree.”
