Earthquake DRILL (Great Utah ShakeOut)

Time: 10:15 AM – 10:20 AM
UVU will participate in a statewide earthquake drill (Great Utah ShakeOut) Tuesday, April 17. All faculty, staff, students and visitors are asked to participate in the drill. Fire alarms simulating the earthquake will sound at 10:15 a.m. for one minute during which time all UVU employees, students and visitors should DROP, take COVER, and HOLD ON until the alarms are silenced. Do NOT evacuate the buildings.
Following the drill, faculty and staff are encouraged to have a brief discussion in their classrooms and departments regarding earthquake preparedness and response. A good resource to facilitate this discussion can be found at http://www.shakeout.org/utah.
The evening of April 16, reminders and notices will be posted in each classroom and office reception entrance. Thank you for your participation in this exercise.
