Police blotter

Possible DUI
Oct. 27-An officer responded to reports of a possible DUI. The officer was not able to locate the vehicle described and cleared the scene.

Abandoned 911
Oct. 27-An officer responded to an abandoned 911 call on Heat Plant Road. The area was checked and cleared.

Locker room theft
Oct. 27-A case was filed after a student reported that money had been stolen from her wallet in the PE Building locker rooms.

Suspicious person
Oct. 28-A suspicious person report came in about a man who was wearing a “security” shirt. An officer determined that the man worked for a security company and was wearing the shirt because he was going to work after school.

Hit & run
Oct. 28-A women reported a hit and run in one of the school parking lots. The responding officer found that damage had been done to her car, however after video footage was reviewed, it was determined that the damage did not occur in the parking lot.

Civil disturbance
Oct. 28-An officer responded to a report of two people in a heated discussion. The officer was able to speak with them and found that they were a former couple who were still going through issues. There were no reports of hitting or pushing, only yelling.

Unsecured facility
Oct. 29-After a routine check the main door to the Extended Education building was found to not be secure. The officer searched the building and no persons were found. The building was secured.

Self-defense injury
Oct. 29-An officer was dispatched to the PE Building after a woman reported that she had hurt her shoulder during a self-defense class. The women was checked by Orem paramedics but was not transported.

Domestic violence
Oct. 29-A report came in about a domestic violence incident. The responding officer was unable to find anyone in distress and cleared the scene.

Keeping the peace
Oct. 29-An officer stood by while a student and a staff member had a meeting. The student reportedly had a history of outbursts. No police action was needed.

Road kill
Oct. 29-A report came in of a dead cat in the parking lot. An officer located the cat and alerted Facilities to come pick it up.

Pedestrian accident
Oct. 30-An officer was dispatched to Parking Lot 10 after a pedestrian was hit by a car. The pedestrian was assessed by Orem Paramedics and released with minor injuries. A traffic accident report was filed.

Expired registration
Oct. 31-A car was pulled over for expired registration. After it was found that the car was uninsured and the driver did not have a valid driver’s license the car was impounded and the driver was cited.
