Campus news ETHICS OF DIRECT POLITICAL ACTION SPEECH – Environmental activist and University of Utah student Tim De Christopher will be speaking about civil disobedience Feb. 19 from 4 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. in the Timpanogos Room in the Library. The event is part of the Utah Democracy Project and is free and open to the public.

UVU CELEBRATES AUCTION FRAUD TO THE EDITOR: This month, UVU will welcome Tim DeChristopher, a college student from Utah convicted of auction fraud in the name of environmentalism, to its campus for a “meet-and-greet.” (DeChristopher will speak on “The Ethics of Direct Political Action,” February 19, from 4 – 5:15 pm in the Timpanogos Room of the UVU Library.

UVU Review’s list of things that must go Larry the Cable Guy- A symbol of degradation in society. Reflective Listening- It just makes people mad. The word “Random”- As in, “did you just do a cartwheel? That’s so random!” Actually, it isn’t. I just felt like doing a cartwheel, that’s all.

A-Rod admits to Using PEDs Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs from 2001-2003 when he was a member of the Texas Rangers. While he was using PEDs he averaged 52 home runs a season and won an MVP award in 2003. His name is one of 104 players that tested positive in 2003 but his was the only name leaked.

Tuesday February 11: Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour – The Outdoor Adventure Center will be showing the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour at 7 p.m. in the Ragan Theatre. Tickets are $9 for one night or $16 for both and can be purchased at the Outdoor Adventure Center.

Jan. 27 – MEDICAL – A 59-year-old female tripped over a large chunk of ice in parking lot “V” and struck her head on the asphalt. The woman was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment. Jan. 28 – MEDICAL – A 29-year-old transient male fell ill with flu-like symptoms at the Digital Learning Center.

Toolson Named GWC Player of the Week Senior guard Ryan Toolson was named Great West Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. Toolson, who was also named National Player of the Week by NCAA basketball icon and ESPN commentator Dick Vitale, averaged 42.

Phelps apologizes for behavior Olympic champion Michael Phelps was thrown into the deep end when a picture of him inhaling from a marijuana pipe landed in a British tabloid. However, unlike most athletes Phelps owned up to the wrongdoing, and because of that damage to his image has been minimal.

Jan. 16 – DISORDLY CONDUCT – UVU Police responded to a report of a fight at College Drive in Orem. Officers arrived on the scene and found a male and female arguing while standing in the middle of the road. Both were charged with disorderly conduct. Jan. 21 – MEDICAL – A UVU maintenance employee fell off a ladder while working alone in the Administration Building at around 2:30 a.

UVU merits To the editor, Having attended two universities before UVU, I have to say that this university does an incredible job catering to its students. I think that it is a joke when people complain about parking, because it doesn’t get any better than this anywhere else.
