About The UVU Review
The independent student newspaper of Utah Valley University, published by students since 1962.
The UVU Review is the independent student voice of Utah Valley University. Our mission is to inform students, faculty, and staff of campus news, entertainment, sports, and opinions while providing a valuable engaged learning experience for our student contributors.
How the paper works
Students run the Review. They choose the stories, report them, take the photographs, edit the video, design the pages and distribute the paper, in print, online, on our podcasts and broadcasts, and on social media. Student editors make the editorial decisions, and we check facts before we publish.
Staff learn on the job, and the team attends national journalism conferences each year.

History
- 1962
- The paper begins as the student voice of Utah Trade Technical Institute.
- 1966 to 2007
- The publication changes its name along with the institution: UTTI Scope, Tradewinds, UTC Press and UVCC College Times.
- 2008
- On June 30, 2008, the day before UVU became a university, the paper takes the name The UVU Review.
- 2009
- The entire print run is stolen from campus newsstands, and the theft draws national coverage.
- 2020s
- The Review grows into print, digital, podcast, broadcast and social media divisions, all produced by students.
