Utah Valley University’s women’s golf team wrapped up their fall season on Thursday with a 13th-place finish at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

The two-day, 54-hole tournament ended for the Wolverines with a three-round total of 959. After posting rounds of 323 and 320 on Wednesday, Utah Valley saved their best for last as they finished the final round with a 316.

The tournament was taken by Vanderbilt (862) who was followed by Boise State (896) and Nebraska (899). Out of the 14 teams competing in the Invitational, UVU was followed only by Hawaii-Hilo (1012).

UVU’s top athlete of the tournament was Casandra Lesa, who scored a 230 tournament total that tied her for 26th place. Lesa was followed by Kimberly Nyhus who scored a 240 and took 59th place for the Wolverines. The next closest team mate of Nythus took 66th with a total score of 244, which is Heather Mathison. She was followed by Hannah Herman (248) and Monica Yeates (249) who took 70th and 71st respectively.

With this week’s tournament marking the lady Wolverines’ final competition of the fall they will be off until February 13-15. At that time the team will be traveling to Estero, Florida, to compete in Florida Gulf Coast’s Eagle Invitational.
