“Baking is a creative process for me” says Brown, “appearance and presentation are as equally important as taste.” The beauty of her handiwork is undeniable, and a nibble of anything she makes betrays perfection.
The shop itself is an adorably decorated mixture of Victorian elegance and funky domesticity. “The flavor of the shop is totally original and the service is extremely personable” said Laura Clayton, a bakeshop employee. It doesn’t hurt the bakeshop’s atmosphere that the aroma of mouth-watering treats is continually present.
The shop offers a variety of scrumptious cookies all freshly made behind-the-scenes. The available types of cookies include sugar, chocolate chip, oatmeal cranberry, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, chocolate truffle, black and white and molasses.
“The cupcakes are absolutely amazing,” says Christine Wishart, a bakeshop employee, “My personal favorite is toasted coconut.” From bubblegum to mint chocolate n’ chip, there is a cupcake flavor for everyone. At $100 base price, they may seem costly, but with superior ingredients and obvious handcrafted precision, these cakes are of the highest quality. “If you are looking for something cheap, discounted, or day-old, we probably aren’t what you’re looking for,” Brown says.
