“Some of my earliest memories are of mixing cookie dough.” says Megan Faulkner Brown, founder of The Sweet Tooth Fairy Bakeshop, “Since childhood I have had a profound love for sweets.”

Dessert-lovers will be delighted to hear that The Sweet Tooth Fairy Bake Shop is now open for business. Located at 1227 S. University Ave. in Provo, this charming corner of heaven is sure to delight your taste buds with its vast assortment of treats.

“Baking is a creative process for me” says Brown, “appearance and presentation are as equally important as taste.” The beauty of her handiwork is undeniable, and a nibble of anything she makes betrays perfection.

The shop itself is an adorably decorated mixture of Victorian elegance and funky domesticity. “The flavor of the shop is totally original and the service is extremely personable” said Laura Clayton, a bakeshop employee. It doesn’t hurt the bakeshop’s atmosphere that the aroma of mouth-watering treats is continually present.

The shop offers a variety of scrumptious cookies all freshly made behind-the-scenes. The available types of cookies include sugar, chocolate chip, oatmeal cranberry, peanut butter, snickerdoodle, chocolate truffle, black and white and molasses.

“The cupcakes are absolutely amazing,” says Christine Wishart, a bakeshop employee, “My personal favorite is toasted coconut.” From bubblegum to mint chocolate n’ chip, there is a cupcake flavor for everyone. Not only are these cupcakes tasty, but they can be beautifully personalized for any occasion.

Brown’s completely customized cakes could be described as edible sculptures. From completely innovative pop culture designs, to intricate four-layered masterpieces, nothing is impossible for this connoisseur of baked goods.

A cake’s pricing is dependent upon its complexity and its serving requirements. At $100 base price, they may seem costly, but with superior ingredients and obvious handcrafted precision, these cakes are of the highest quality. “If you are looking for something cheap, discounted, or day-old, we probably aren’t what you’re looking for,” Brown says.

The bakeshop also offers a diversity of other goodies. These include the chocolate covered cake-bites featured on the Rachel Ray show, English toffee, bundt cakes, chocolate dipped Oreos, dipped pretzels, and mocha and cinnamon-glazed almonds.

While visiting this delightful shop is a must, there is the option of pre-ordering items online at www.TheSweetToothFairy.com. These goods may be picked up, delivered, or shipped at the customer’s convenience, if ordered in advance. Visiting the Web site is an excellent way of checking out all the shop has to offer.

The hours maintained by The Sweet Tooth Fairy are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. “Megan will often be at the shop until 2 a.m. preparing for the next day and will usually be there again at 7 a.m. making sure things are perfect,” Wishart says.

There is an obvious combination of heart and hard work going into this shop and its yummy creations. To satisfy a sweet tooth, visit The Sweet Tooth Fairy Bakeshop in Provo and choose from their medley of enchanting treats.
