National Parks Book

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The UVU Art & Design department has created a collaborative high quality fine art coffee table book, featuring different artistic mediums. This year’s theme is National Parks in Utah. According to the UVU School of the Arts website, the book will focus more on images that will touch the soul rather than simply well-known locations. Images will strive to encompass, “Interactions of tourists within the park, traditional landscapes, emotional responses to the locations, controversial topics, historical aspects, and interpretive images.”Students worked from January till October to capture beautiful and expressive photos. They hiked countless trails through various parks throughout Utah such as: Arches, Bryce, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Zion, Cedar Breaks, Dinosaur, Hovenweep, Natural Bridges, Rainbow Bridge, Timpanogos Cave, Glen Canyon (Lake Powell), and Golden Spike. As they went to locations almost all throughout the year, they also endured both hot and cold extremes ofthe weather to get the best shots.A lot of time and care went into making this book, students and faculty alike have put all of their heart into its quality and publication.
