How are death and laughter related? Come find out at the Covey Center for the Arts’ newest play “Every Day a Little Death.” This two-person comedy starring Elwon Bakly and Fallon Hanson is centered around everyday events that bring us laughter and joy, from jokes to feeling nervous to life in general. “We laugh at life,” says the playwright, J. Scott Bronson, “We ought to anyway. And if we do, it’s not such a stretch to laugh about death as well. After all, it is just another part of life.”
Ironically, the play does not involve even a single scene that has anything to do with death or funerals. The play does not involve any big events like weddings or new jobs or presidential inaugurations. Rather, the show involves the important, ordinary moments of our everyday lives. “In my experience, there is nothing mundane about life at all; every moment is important,” says Bronson, “You just have to look at it the right way.” “Every Day a Little Death” opens April 9, 2009 and goes until May 2.
