It wasn’t long ago that Utah Valley was the defeated team on the wrong side of a lopsided win. But things have changed since the program started three years ago.

Seth Armitage led the way for the Wolverines in their crushing 25-2 win over BYU-Idaho the day after Metro State fell 10-1 to the Wolverines. His hat trick along with teammate Jeremy Martin’s three goals was more than enough to dispatch BYU-Idaho.
"
The whole team was excited to play as a team," Coach Beaudry said. "The guys are all there for each other, supporting each other." After a quick goal by each team in the first period the Wolverines came alive after Martin slipped one into the back of the net when he found himself alone in front of the crease.

After Martin’s goal the floodgates opened and the Utah Valley scoring spree ensued.

The Wolverines’ five goals in the period, including Martin’s second goal and Armitage’s first, gave Utah Valley a 6-2 lead.

The onslaught continued in the second period as Utah Valley scored 12 unanswered goals including a fast break where Armitage split two defenders before sinking the puck right between the pipes.

The third period became a game of keep-away as the Wolverines essentially ran the clock out on their way to the easy win.

"Hats off to the BYU-Idaho kids," said Beaudry. "Laying down blocking shots when they’re down 23 goals, they showed a lot of heart."

The Wolverines improve to 9-0-2 and remain undefeated on the season as they prepare for several tough games in the near future. Utah Valley traveled to Colorado to take on several quality opponents in Denver University, Colorado State and University of Colorado.

"We see the potential in our team," Beaudry said. "We’re where we want to be and our upcoming trip to Colorado will be our biggest challenge of the season so far."
