The Wolverines answered in the in the fourth. After back-to-back doubles by Mark Krueger and Spencer Gothberg, Schlehuber then sent a double to left to score both runners. He later scored from third on a wild pitch to give UVU a 5-3 lead.

UVU put a cap on the afternoon with three runs in the eighth. Gothberg led off the inning with a single to left, then put himself in scoring position as he stole second. Gothberg came around to score from second as Jake Atkinson singled through the right side of the infield. Atkinson was then put out at second as Schlehuber reached on a fielder’s choice to shortstop.

Trevor Howell singled to left, then he and Schlehuber advanced into scoring position on a passed ball. On the next pitch, Stone Ramsey lifted a sacrifice fly to center to score Schlehuber. Greyson Bogden completed the scoring on the day with a two-out triple to center, which scored Howell and gave the Wolverines a 9-4 lead.

UVU looks to complete their third series sweep on the season with the final game of the three-game series Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. MT at Cougar Stadium in Chicago.
