Back in 2021, Young Living Essential Oils announced their donation of $4.5 million dollars for the construction of the Alumni Center. After two and a half years of construction, on Aug. 18., a ribbon-cutting celebration was hosted in the new building. During the event, President Astrid S. Tuminez stated that this new center is part of UVU’s evolution. “Evolution is the name of the game,” she said. “The more diverse you are, the more creative you become, and you put in the hard work, and you’ll evolve to become very effective and very impactful.”

Furthermore, in a UVU press release discussing the event, it was shared that 77% of UVU alumni stay and live in Utah ten years after graduation. As such, Tuminez remarked that the university is investing in this center to serve them and current students by helping them pave the way for the life students deserve through events and resources.

Alumni are encouraged to use the center “to network, expand careers, and map out their futures.” For current students, the center provides similar opportunities as alumni by finding mentorships and creating connections with those who support student success.

Students can also visit the UVU Institutional Advancement, which is housed in the center. This department coordinates with donors of student scholarships, advances college initiatives, and provides ongoing support for future generations. Students can also get involved by participating in EverGREEN, UVU’s fundraising campaign to expand and increase the impact of a degree on the world.
