What is your major and emphasis?
English major with emphasis in Literature
What was your best UVU moment?
My best moment at UVU was during a class lecture when my professor got so passionate about the subject that they threw themselves against the wall and accidentally cracked it. It was intense and pretty cool.
Hardest class?
My hardest class was definitely weightlifting. It was tough.
What’s next for you?
For the next year I will be writing and designing marketing materials for a project in the great outdoors of northern California. After that, I plan to attend law school.
Short bio, who are you? Describe yourself in a short paragraph.
I chose English because of all the possible academic and career paths it can lead to. I never knew exactly what I wanted to do when I grew up, but studying English has taught me how passionate I am about art, life, and people. I hope to be able to extend that passion to everyone I meet in my future.
What will you miss most?
I’ll miss the strong network of friends I made. I’m so grateful for the students and teachers I met that influenced and enriched my life.

Britnee Nguyen

What was your best UVU moment?
Seeing my name in print for the first time in the College Times.
Hardest class?
Mass Media Law and Ethics with Roger Gunn. It involved memorizing several law cases and talking about everything pertaining to the First Amendment. It was intense, but well worth taking.
What’s next for you?
I’ll be doing a full-time internship at Politis Communications in the summer and then going to University of Utah for my Master’s in Communication in the fall.

I grew up in Ogden, Utah, but have lived in Orem for the past five years. I’m the oldest of 3 girls. I love school, sports, the outdoors, meeting new people and writing. My goal is to eventually become a professor and retire in Santa Barbara.
What will you miss most?
I will miss some of the great classmates, faculty, and administrators I’ve met here. I’ll definitely miss the staff and Friday nights at UVU Review.

Carol Acevedo
What was your best UVU moment?
Honestly, the best UVU moments have been the past couple of weeks. I finished my History Senior Thesis and passed the defense. I also found out this thesis will be published in the history journal Crescat Scientia, and I was also selected for an internship at the Library of Congress in Washington DC.
Hardest class?
Ethics and Values was probably the hardest class I’ve taken here. There were a lot of papers, projects, presentations, etc. and the final consisted of 100 philosophical short answer/essay questions. It was still one of my favorite classes and very influential as well.
What’s next for you?
This summer I will be in Washington DC for an internship at the Library of Congress. After that, I will be applying to graduate schools to receive a Masters in Library Sciences.
Short bio, who are you? Describe yourself in a short paragraph.
I have many interests but I really like all types of creativity, more specifically films, graphic, interior, and set design. I currently hold an associates in Graphic Design and am graduating with a B.A. in history from UVU. I have attended SLCC and U of U, but it wasn’t until I transferred to UVU that I felt at home. With a background in history, research, and design I hope to make great films one day.
What will you miss most?
I really enjoyed going to this school and will miss the small community atmosphere it has where it feels like everyone knows your name. This school always felt accessible and student friendly with small classes and professors that are very professional yet friendly. I will also miss designing at the UVU Review; the good times and friends I have made there.

Merinda Davis
History Education with a minor in Political Science
What was your best UVU moment?
Winning a break dancing contest at a school dance and getting free pizza.
Hardest class?
Without a doubt Math 1010 was the hardest class for me. It didn’t take
me as many times as Vegor to pass the class, but more than most.
What’s next for you?
Now that I have finished my student teaching, I think I’m going to
spend part of the summer in Washington D.C. doing some research at the
United States Holocaust Museum. Then I’ll begin teaching in the fall
and hopefully go to grad school.

Growing up an ‘Army Brat’ I’ve moved around a lot. I moved to Utah
about eight years ago from South Carolina. Having so many interests it
was hard for me to pick a major so I studied both art and history
finally landing on History education and political science. My love
for art never diminished and became the lead designer of the UVU
Review.
What will you miss most?
Working on the “UVU Review” I’m really going to miss everyone on
staff, they’re the best.
