As fall begins and the monotony of school sets in, it is time to spice things up and attend a live show at the SCERA in Orem. The 2009-2010 Season is filled with shows to make you laugh, cry and truly fall in love with the performing arts.

This season kicks off with INTO THE WOODS, a witty and family-friendly musical written by Stephen Sondheim. This Tony Award-winning show is perfect for children and adults alike. Through humorous story and song, the cast (comprised of fairy tale characters) tell of responsibility and making choices. This is a fun production and is showing from Sept. 18 through Oct. 3.

After INTO THE WOODS, SCERA presents a couple of feature performers putting on some lively shows at the theater. Cold Creek, a wonderful bluegrass band that lives to entertain, will be performing live at the SCERA Theater Oct. 24.

After listening to Cold Creek’s toe-tapping music, it’s time for a little laughter. Laugh Out Loud Night with Keith Stubbs and Friends will make you laugh until you cry on Nov. 13. Stubbs is known for his humorous and tasteful shows that have been featured on Comedy Central. If you haven’t seen him, you’re missing out!

SCERA offers a great discount for students and if you buy a student season ticket, you get to see 12 shows for less than $6 a show. That’s cheaper than going to the movies! Season tickets are also available for the general public and can be purchased at the SCERA box office or by calling (801) 225-ARTS.
