The Jazz Ensemble will be in concert on Tuesday, Nov. 23, at the Ragan Theater.
Led by Dr. James Colonna, the director of bands at UVU, the ensemble is composed of 20 students who will be playing either trumpets, trombones or saxophones, as well as a rhythm section.
Dr. Colonna, who has been ensemble director for two years, will be leading the group in two student-arranged pieces.
The ?rst is titled “Huntress” and was written by drummer Nate Anderson. The other is titled “When I’m 64,” arranged by bass player Branson Garner.
This concert will also feature guest performances by critically acclaimed trumpeter Adam Rapa and will include many of his arrangements.
Tickets will be $5 with a UVU ID and $10 for general admission.
