Best Halloween baked goods in Utah Valley

Halloween shall stand forever as a testament to humankind’s willingness to confront any danger, face any hazard and submit to any peril in its unceasing pursuit of candy and treats.

Consider the premise of this, the strangest of all holidays: a person dons a costume, demeaning or unsettling; they venture, so costumed, into streets flooded with their peers and they brave a sea of costumed horrors. People do all of this with a single-mindedness now absent from modern American discourse: lip-smacking, gut-busting, colon-crushing indulgence of the sweet tooth. For one night a year, even the most diet conscious and size-sensible amongst us are willing to hang their pancreas from the ceiling and pound it like a prize fighter.

Although we all appreciate the chance that Halloween affords us to stuff our pie holes with its namesake, we don’t all savor it to the same degree. While the Ke$has of the world are satisfied with even the most filthy of confections, those of us with classy, genteel sensibilities realize that our bodies are temples through whose doors only the purest of sugars will be poured by the dump truck-ful.

The guide provided below exists for us Utah Valley sugar-suckers with standards. Here you will find your personal map to the most delicious Halloween treats that this valley can offer.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies: Some of the best PC3s available come from the bakery at Macey’s Grocery Store, can be purchased in packages of 10 or 20.

Honorable Mention: Pumpkin Chocolate-Chip Cupcake from The Sweet Tooth Fairy, a variation on the Halloween classic.

Donuts: There’s no shame in being the best, and that feat is easier when you focus your efforts. Krispy Kreme Donuts has done just that, have created the Pumpkin Spice cake donut.

Honorable Mention: Freshly made doughnuts from Provo Bakery.

Sugar Cookies: Perhaps the most versatile of treats, the sugar cookie has a place in every holiday. The Sweet Tooth Fairy has added an intoxicating amount of their signature icing, all in Halloween colors and shapes.

Honorable Mention: None. Go and try this cookie.
