Saving gas by using water?

November 17, 2008 Chad Call 0

“Double your gas mileage.” Instead of paying inflated prices for gas at the pump, drivers can do just that by filling up with water, according to the claim made by a very popular website.

Water4gas.com offers customers a 183-page do-it-yourself manual that gives detailed instructions about how you can turn your car into a “water hybrid.

In space, no one can hear you scream

November 17, 2008 Jonathan Poole 0

The survival/horror genre of gaming has certainly seen better days. Of course, for the sake of clarity, when I say “better” I mean “more nightmarishly horrific.” The golden days revolve around the first few Resident Evil’s, Silent Hill’s and Fatal Flames before the respective series petered off into light gun centric shooters and lackluster, dumbed down sequels that cater to the crowd a little too thick to enjoy 7even or Silence of the Lambs, you know, those people that keep buying tickets to the latest version of Saw.

Travis Barker, the former drummer for Blink-182, is recovering nicely after sustaining third degree burns to his body when his private jet crashed immediately after take-off on Sept. 18. DJ AM, Travis’ bandmate, is the only other survivor of the crash, which claimed the lives of the two pilots?as well as?two of Barker’s friends, Chris Baker and Charles Still.

A gathering of nations

November 17, 2008 Merinda Pearce - Davis 0

The lights are dim, vibrant colors all around, while drumbeats fill the air. The hum of chatter and laughter can be heard throughout the room. “Things like this, having powwows, helps people to go back to their roots, to want to discover where they came from,” Billie Atsitty, vice president of the Native Sun Club, said.

Quantum of Solace: New Bond is bigger and badder than ever

November 17, 2008 Luke Hickman 0

Just like most people my age, I watched lots of James Bond flicks with my parents. While I always considered them fun movies, I never thought anything more of them – that was, until the franchise was rebooted in 2006 with Casino Royale. Seeing the beginnings of Bond and following him through his first double-o-seven mission brought a new Bond for a new generation.

Using food to find love

November 17, 2008 Mel Sundquist 0

If socially active UVU students are any representation of general opinion, brunettes are officially more attractive than blondes. At the dating auction held at Centre Stage on Nov. 5, four boys and four girls were auctioned off. Dates with brunette women sold for an average of three times more than blondes.

If you haven’t read it.

November 17, 2008 Fomer Staff Writer 0

Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God has been said to deserve a place in the American literary canon alongside the best of Faulkner, Fitzgerald and Hemingway. It is the tale of Janie Crawford, a beautiful, independent black woman living in Florida a few short generations after the abolition of slavery.

Ask Cha-cha

November 17, 2008 defaultuser 0

Cha-cha is a phone service that will answer any question for you at any time of day. Kind of makes you wonder why you’re spending all that cash on tuition, doesn’t it? The UVU Review will ask Cha-cha important questions every week, starting with what is possibly the most important question of all: What came first, the chicken or the egg? “It’s generally accepted that the egg came first (at breakfast), followed by the chicken (around lunchtime).
