UVU fell 2-0 to Portland State on Friday afternoon at Clyde Field in the team’s final tune-up before Great West Conference play begins next week.

The Wolverines (1-9-0) open conference play on the road in the GWC’s inaugural season next Friday at North Dakota, they finish up the weekend at  South Dakota on Sunday.

In Friday’s loss, the fifth in a row for UVU, Dolly Enneking stole the show, scoring a goal in each half to earn the victory. Enneking scored her fifth goal of the season in the seventeenth minute on an assist from Michelle Hlasnik. Her second-half goal came on a penalty kick in the fifty-eighth minute.

The Wolverines were out-shot 22-11 overall and 11-6 on goal. Down 2-0 midway through the second half, UVU mustered three close attempts. A shot from Katey Turner was deflected away by PSU keeper Cris Lewis, and Adrienne Schneider’s breakaway attempt went wide right. The shot fired by Lauren Bluth hit the crossbar.
