New home, same result

Reading Time: 2 minutes Oct. 9, 2008 marked the start of a new era for Utah soccer. Rio Tinto Stadium is the new home for Real Salt Lake. It is the first soccer specific stadium built in Utah. RSL took on the New York Red Bulls in front of a sold-out stadium of 20,008 people. The final score was 1-1, RSL one point.

This makes back-to-back wins for the lady Wolverines, and put Chicago State at 0-20 this season. “It is difficult to stay focused against a team that’s struggling,” Coach Sam Atoa said after the victory.

Volleyball suffers setback with 0-2 start

Reading Time: 2 minutes Utah Valley women’s volleyball team starts the season off 0-2 after losing both of their matches at the Utah Invitational. The first match was against the University of Utah and the Wolverines fell 3-0 (19-25, 10-25, 22-25). The second was closer, against University of California-Santa Clara, but they just could not close it out, losing in five, 2-3 (18-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-22, 0-15).
