Jazz roster looking familiar This off-season has been one of the most decisive in team history for the Utah Jazz. Three of the Jazz’s main contributors faced opt-out clauses in their contracts this summer. Sosa’s Juiced Retired baseball player Sammy Sosa was one of the players on the list of 104 players who tested positive for performance enhancing drugs in 2003. Before his name was leaked, he had denied using PEDs to ESPN as well as Congress. The only other name on the list of 104 players that has been released is Alex Rodriguez.
Former Wolverine goes to the Show Former Wolverine Mitch Jones became just the second Utah Valley player to appear in a Major League Baseball game when he pitch-hit for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Jones made his debut with an at-bat in front of a standing ovation from the Dodger Stadium crowd.

April 2009 April 9th- Public Intoxication – A 28 year old male was arrested for Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct after he approached a man and his son in the Student Center and became very belligerent. The male was transported back to the UVU Police Department and issued a citation prior to being released to his father.

UVU Men and Women Sweep the GWC Outdoor Track and Field Championships Utah Valley University’s men’s and women’s track and field teams swept the Great West Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Houston Baptist University. The UVU women’s team won with a score of 253.
