Cutler Demands Trade
Pro Bowl quarterback Jay Cutler of the Denver Broncos has asked to be traded. Cutler was upset because the Broncos were willing to trade him in order to acquire Matt Cassel, and when that trade fell through there was still bad blood. Cutler refused to show up for the first team meeting of the year and hopes to never have to show up again. In 2008 Cutler threw for 4,526 yards and 25 touchdowns.
Rockets’ Landry Shot
Houston Rockets forward Carl Landry was shot in the left leg early Tuesday while driving near his home. The injury was minor, and the team said Landry was treated at a hospital and released. The Rockets said they expected Landry to return to action in one to three weeks. Landry was drafted by Seattle in the second round in 2007, then traded to Houston for a future second-round pick and cash. He averaged eight points and 4.9 rebounds in 2007-08.
