Women’s golf finishes the fall season

Reading Time: < 1 minute After four tournaments, the women’s golf team finished up the first half of their season. Their first tournament took them to Fruit Heights to compete in the Weber State Invitational. “We came in second in the four team tournament that Weber State hosted,” said David DeSantis, women’s head golf coach.

Reading Time: 2 minutes Women’s golf finishes fall with 17th-place finish The Utah Valley women’s golf team capped the 2008 fall season with a 17th-place finish in the Lamkin Grip Cal Poly Invitational at Cypress Ridge Golf Course on Tuesday. Kasey Larson (76-84–160) was the top finisher for UVU, tying for 46th after an 84 in Tuesday’s final round.

Cross-country men and women finish season strong

Reading Time: 2 minutes Wolverine cross-country men and women rocked the Great West Conference by placing in the top two for the last meet of the 2008 season. The GWC meet was held at Lakeside Park in Orem last week. The women’s 6k race took place first and the wolverine women finished in 1st place and were crowned the first ever GWC Champions.

The Detroit Pistons acquired Allen Iverson and sent Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess to the Denver Nuggets. Iverson is looking forward to his new home in Detroit. Billups is also excited because most of his off-season workouts are done in Denver.

Wolverines fall in conference championship

Reading Time: < 1 minute The Utah Valley women’s soccer 2008 season, it’s most successful ever at the NCAA level, ended with a tough 1-0 loss at Longwood in the United Soccer Conference Championship game on Monday night. Despite the loss in the final, the 2008 Wolverines will go down as the winningest team in the school’s six-year NCAA history.

When the game got close, the Wolverines played solid, not letting SU believe they could win a set, crushing any hopes of winning. Reading Time: 2 minutes It’s kickoff time, or at least time for the UVU wrestling team to strap up and hit the mat for the season to begin. The young Wolverine wrestling team will face off unranked against some of the toughest teams in the league. Their first match is against the nationally second-ranked Iowa State this Thursday, a match that will be played out on Iowa territory.
