We’re pushing towards the end of November and each of the WAC winter sports are well under way, meaning it’s near closing time for WAC fall sports. There have already been champions crowned in men’s and women’s soccer, and a volleyball champion will have been decided by the end of the Nov. 22 weekend. What a run it has been for WAC fall sports in 2019!

Utah Valley men’s soccer saw their 2019 season extended by at least one more match on Friday, Nov. 15, against Air Force Academy because of penalty kicks. But had their season come to a close on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 17, against Seattle University due to penalty kicks. The Redhawks then earned the WAC title and an automatic berth into the NCAA tournament.

Senior forward Blake Frischknecht tallied the final goal of the evening for the Wolverines, which gave him the UVU single-season record for goals scored. It was his 10th on the season and broke the tie of nine with Skyler Milne in 2015 and Paul Hoffmeister in 2016.
