For over 35 years, United Way of Utah County’s Sub for Santa has partnered with local schools and nonprofit organizations to provide gifts for children during Christmas time. UVU is now accepting applications, as well as donations, for this cause.
In just over a decade, UVU’s Women’s Success Center has significantly improved female enrollment and graduation rates.

Carolyn Phippen, former area director for Senator Mike Lee and board member of Utah Citizens for the Constitution and Director of Freedom Front, has joined the race to replace Senator Mitt Romney in 2024.
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at UVU hosted Emily Gappmayer Rowley for the Oct. 18 session of the Degrees to Anywhere lecture series. Rowley, president of sales and production at First Colony Mortgage, addressed the audience with the theme, “While I could definitely rock glass slippers, I prefer to shatter glass ceilings.”

On Oct. 14, 2023, an annular eclipse was visible in certain parts of North, Central and South America. For the United States, the eclipse started around 9:13 a.m. in Oregon and ended around 12:03 p.m. in Texas.
The Review had a chance to sit down with Riverton City Mayor and U.S. Senate candidate Trent Staggs, where he discussed his campaign and what he would bring to The Senate in terms of fiscal policy, small government, education and healthcare. Staggs also addressed questions about his primary challengers and why he was best to do the job.
“There’s never a time in your life where you can’t be an actor,” says theater student Rachel Naylor. “I think that’s one of the small hidden gems about this career choice.”

Check out several of UVU’s resources to help through midterms. Options include the Writing Center, Language Lab, Math Lab, and online tutoring in science, business, and computer technology, as well as an event page with weekly events to help ease the stress of midterms.
Former Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert founded and continues to help students gain more experience in public policy.
On Oct. 4, UVU hosted the Career & Internship Fair in the Grande Ballroom where students were invited to participate and meet potential employers.
