The Utah Valley University cross country team traveled to the SUU Color Country Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 8, in Cedar City Utah. The women had a dominant showing, placing first while the men’s team took third. The Wolverines competed against Southern Utah University and Utah Tech.
The Utah Valley University women’s golf team started this week off by competing at the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic on Monday and Tuesday. The Wolverines placed 9th overall out of the 11 teams that competed while Leighton Shosted tied for 17th place as a first seed and Abbey Porter tied for 22nd overall as the fifth seed.
The Utah Valley University women’s cross country team had an outstanding outing at the Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday, Sep. 24. The Wolverines took seventh out of the 20 teams that competed while Everlyn Kemboi took third overall in the meet.
The Utah Valley women’s soccer team edged the Sam Houston State University Bearkats 1-0 on Sunday, Sep. 18, in Huntsville, Texas. Nicole Ray scored the game-winner in the second half to help propel the Wolverines past the Bearkats after a defensive battle on both sides.
The Utah Valley University women’s golf team began their season by hosting the Hobble Creek Fall Classic last week. The Wolverines return 17th-place finisher sophomore Leighton Shosted and 2021 WAC champion Victoria Estrada.
Utah Valley University’s men’s golf team started their season last week at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, returning all five WAC Championship competitors from the previous season, including second team All-WAC Brady McKinlay and Joseph Glenn.
The Utah Valley University men’s soccer team fell 3-2 against the Santa Clara University Broncos on Friday, Sep. 16, in Santa Clara, California. The Wolverines had an early 2-0 lead but were unable to respond to the comeback made by Jesse Anamoo and the Broncos.
The Utah Valley men’s soccer team was routed by the University of California Santa Barbra Gauchos in a 5-1 decision. Diego Castillo and Mark Andros led way for the Wolverines, accounting for most of their shots.
The Utah Valley cross country team had a great showing at the Run Elite Program Cross Classic despite the top runners not competing, with the men and women both finishing second. The young runners competed well.
