The Utah Valley Wolverines snapped their three-game losing streak on Thursday night, Nov. 14, when they visited the Redhawks of Seattle University behind a strong offensive outing by sophomore outside hitter Kazna Tarawhiti and her 25 kills.
“I wanted to be in-state,” said Tarawhiti. “Looking at my different options in-state I always felt the most comfortable with UVU. I felt like I had a lot to offer to that program, which was exciting for me … I wanted to be a part of something that was coming up … If you look at BYU or Utah they already have that expectation. I wanted to be a part of something that could get there and I think UVU is now getting there slowly but surely.”
The loss caused UVU to split the season series with UTRGV, and was also UVU’s fourth loss in the last six games. The Wolverines lost in the fifth set once again, which was their third loss of the season in the final set.
UVU kept it close for the entirety of the match but couldn’t knock the Aggies off and stop them from securing their tenth-straight win in WAC play.
