Under the skillful hand of Ed Brubaker, the book is consistently incredible and often mind-blowing. Forget the eyeliner-wearing, prissy stuff that passes for metal nowadays, Mastodon is the real deal and Crack the skye is their masterpiece. If you like your metal heavy, and without all the whining and crying of modern so-called hardcore, then this is the band for you.

Reading Time: 2 minutes Last Wednesday, dance students and passers-by in the PE hall stumbled across a rather unusual sight: the energetic Kim Strunk, UVU dance instructor extraodinaire, was struggling to keep up in dance with an older woman who had a cast on her foot. That woman was Mabiba Baegne, on her annual tour around the country, stopping in to grace us with her talents and to teach the willing – and the very nimble – the simple- looking yet deceptively complicated traditional African dances.

The Timpanogos Gem and Mineral Society has hosted the show for the past 50 years, hoping to enrich the minds of those interested in mineralogy, paleantology, and geology – especially children.
