This invitational will take them through the remainder of their season, which will go through the end of this semester.

Reading Time: < 1 minute NFL wants to play more NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is proposing a plan to NFL owners to raise the amount of games in a regular season from 16 to 17 or 18 games. The proposal would also make it so there are fewer preseason games. Goodell said that the league does not need four exhibition games anymore.

Reading Time: 2 minutes Fairbanks Named Independent Player of the Year for Third Time Coaches and sports information directors at 14 independent schools have named Utah Valley University’s Robyn Fairbanks both the Division I Independent Player of the Year and as a selection to the All-Independent first team.

Reading Time: < 1 minute Todd Fairbourne, who is in his 11th year as the head softball coach at UVU, has brought success to the Wolverine’s program. Before Utah Valley made the jump to Division I competition, Fairbourne helped guide UVU to the schools only national championship while competing in the junior college ranks.

Reading Time: 2 minutes As of March 26, the men’s baseball team is 6-14 on the season and has lost 10 of their last 11 games. It seems to have been a rough road trip for the Wolverines. The road trip started in Washington against Gonzaga, where the Wolverines struggled to get any momentum.

Reading Time: 2 minutes The Utah Valley Thunder, Utah County’s new indoor football team, began its inaugural season against the Wyoming Cavalry last week. The Thunder hung with the Cavalry nearly the whole game, but found down the stretch that in arena football, things can change in a matter of seconds.

Park service extends elk hunting boundaries to include UVU campus

Reading Time: 2 minutes In a 7 vs. 2 vote last Friday, Utah Park Service officials announced that they have extended the boundaries of this year’s elk hunt to include parts of southwestern Orem and northern Provo. The decision largely hinged on two issues: persuading new hunters to join in helping thin the growing elk population and game dispersion over a few wide geographic areas in the former boundaries.
